Cykle Water Bottle
An 18 year old student from Washington, Jordan Steeves, created a carboard and plastic water bottle which could revolutionize the bottled water industry.
According to King5.com, “The 18-year-old got inspiration for his senior project from his dad, after a trip to Miami.
“He said the beach was amazing and nice,” said Steeves, “but he kept stepping on water bottles.”
With news of the dangers accumulating plastic is having on the ocean and aquatic life, Steeves began researching an idea he had. He wondered if you could make a water bottle out of cardboard.”
So far Steeves has gotten no investors but this hybrid water bottle could save our planet from millions of pounds of plastic.

That’s so cool to see a cardboard and plastic water bottle, especially since it was made by an entrepreneurial 18-year-old. Good job!

The “inventor” now admits he “in no way claimed to invent or develop the carton used to package Cykle, which is a Tetra Pak technology…” No word yet if he gets to keep the $5000. http://cyklewater.com/

Interesting idea, seems like a very innovative young man. What are the specifics of this creation? How does the bottle keep its continuity and is it reusable?

I like the idea that the bottle is more enviroment friendly. I recently bought a bag in box wine that was recycleable, pretty good that people start to think of the enviroment.

He seems like a good kid. And I think he should keep the money. Sure, he used Tetra Pak’s cardboard but as far as I know, he got a lot more people talking about the possibility of using said material widely than the makers of the cardboard. Just my two cents though.

Kinda sounds like the juice containers. If the package is biodegradable it’s definitely superior to the plastic containers laying around. Thanks for the article.

Isn’t it amazing what ideas people come up with. If someone told you they were going to make a bottle out of cardboard, you would laugh at them! Some of the worlds best inventions come from people with vision and determination to make something work. Well done i say!
