Coral Gables High School Stabbing
The Coral Gables High School stabbing happened earlier today when two kids were fighting and one killed the other with a knife wound.
The school was immediately locked down and parents were not immediately allowed to take their kids home until the police finished their investigation.
Coral Gables High School is in Southern Florida and in an area which has been known for a lot of violence.

@sell my house, You are right my friend, i think the parents are first teacher of the kids and they make the base of their kids knowledge. I think the parents are the best source of moral education.

Being that I am a student myself right now.. whenever I hear of these types of stories it just gives me a sick feeling in my mouth… not sure what would goes on in the students minds to enable them to do this, perhaps nothing….
Although… I will say I am a college student… but still… it wasn’t that long ago that I was in High School. I can say… there are alot of “scary” kids in high school, that you fear being around.

@kissing bears baskets, if you search on yahoo locals, and even Google, alot of the places have reviews on them, and you can often get to a decent restaurant judging from the reviews =D

I agree with the other poster. However, if you are really/very very smart, then yea you can skip high school and be on your way to college by skipping grades. However, if you are not smart, then you need to go to HS.

Why could not the school control students violence. I feel that its their responsibility to take care and prevent such terrible things. Youth violence has become a global problem and poses a great threat to every country in this world. I recently read somewhere that parents are complaining that student violence is basically due to lack of academic excellence and improper communication methods. Whatever this should not be allowed and has to be wiped out at grass root level itself.

Really it is a punishable act but sometime the child parents are too responsible for the act as because if the early nourishment is weak the further is lot.

This is crazy… what kind of “kids” those are
Violence should really be prevented and taken care of so that lives are not lost and lots of other sorts of damage violence can cause too…
Even if its a fight it can have a psychological effect on some kids but this is just horrible what is happening there (stabbing, etc)

I’m not too sure as to the age in your state/country that a person is tried as an adult. I do know however that even if he is juvenile court there is a fair chance that it will be put forward that he is old enough to know what he was doing since he is 16.

It’s horrible. Very, very sad. I wish I hadn’t gotten curious just now and read this. But this kind of thing is happening all over the country. We have to think of better ways to stop it.

You know what country, nothing surprises me anymore.Ive worked with troubled teenagers for over 7 years…and moved to a unit just for kids who had been permantly excluded from several schools,noone else would take them.They become a law unto themselves,and respect noone.I had a lad bring 2 knives in with him..and I had to get them off him….a very frightening situation….werent till I got home I realised what could have happened to me.

I was very nervous and was off work for 8 months with panic attacks…then decided to give it up….NO way was I gonna put myself in that position again.
This stabbing is YET another example of our society…one which I absolutely hate.

It’s all over my TV to. They didn’t have metal detectors there! No where is safe anymore! Those poor kids ! I think everyone needs to work together, teachers, parents and the community as a whole to teach our children that violence is never the answer!

Teacher was stabbed at a high school in my town today. Could his teen killer be tried as an adult?

The Teacher was stabbed to death in his own class room.
I would think it would be on every chanel by now.

Whether this will affect sentencing etc I am not too sure, but either way the kid would probably be in serious trouble, especially as someones life was taken – which seems like it was an unprovoked attack on an innocent victim (just by lack of information.)
